Grass Fed Beef 2024

Anticipated Delivery November-January 2025

Cut Sheet Linked Below

The price is $5.90 per pound for a whole

$6.00 per pound for a ½

$6.15 per pound for a ¼

Hanging weight is what the animal weighs after the head, hide, blood and entrails have been removed.  It is the most fair way to charge.  The price includes, the animal and its care, delivery to the processor, all processing/packaging fees, picking up the finished product from the processor and delivery to your house.

If you are used to eating store bought meat this meat will taste different.  If you do not like the taste there is nothing I can do about that and I cannot refund your money.  I do not cut the meat either so if the processor messes up there is nothing I can do about that, but let me know what the problem was so it is avoided in the future.

For example if you had a beef hang at 600 pounds and you bought the whole thing your total cost would be $3,150.00. Of that 600 pounds you would take home about 60% for the freezer.  That works out to be 360 pounds of meat.  In the end you are paying about $8.75 per pound for all cuts and ground beef. Some cuts in the store are $18 per pound and ground beef might be $6 per pound.  It’s hard to break this all down and compare to store bought but I am trying to make sure you know what you are paying and getting.

Also comparing grassfed, pasture raised beef to the beef in the store is like comparing a Cadilac to a Ford Festiva.

I require a non-refundable fee of $500 for a whole, $375 for a half  and $150 for a ¼.  This money will cover processing costs so if you back out I can still pay the processing fees.  I take cash, check, card, Venmo, Paypal and Zelle.

If you buy a whole beef or  ½ you will get any cut you want since you will own either the whole beef or the one ½ .  You will get an assortment of cuts like; ground beef, roasts, steaks (ribeye, sirloin, skirt, stirp, round) and stew meat, it just depends on what you want.  When the time comes I will send a cut sheet to you for you to fill out.

Be aware that if you buy a ¼ beef you will not be able to get every cut you want as you will be sharing the other ¼ with someone else.  For example steaks come from the rear of the animal, roasts from the front, but if you get a ¼ then what ¼ are you getting, the front ¼ or rear ¼, well both, kind of, you just have to work it out with whoever has the other ¼.  For example if you and your parents split a ½ then you all will work out what cuts to get and how to distribute them between the families.

If you want a ¼ and you are not splitting the ½ with someone you know then I will take your cut sheet and the other persons to the processor and have them try their best to fairly split the ½.  In this scenario you will not get all that you want so be flexible and understanding.

Obviously the beef from me is grass fed for its entire life and they never eat grain, soy, supplements or anything non-native to the farm. They are raised in a pasture and rotated to new grass daily.  You cannot buy this kind of beef in any store no matter how it’s marketed or labeled.  Also be aware that many farmers sell their beef as grass finished and that can mean that the last 4 months of the animals life they ate grass but before that grain.  Feel free to shop around as you will find it cheaper than what I charge, but be sure to compare beef to beef.  If you find a better price be sure to ask the farmer:

“Is this animal completely grass fed from weaning to slaughter?

Were they ever on grain?

Were they raised in a pasture or a lot/pen?

Were they rotated?

Can I come see the farm?

Good, natural food, raised in a sustainable way with the health of the animal in mind isn’t expensive, it’s priceless.  With that said please ask questions before sending money.  I want to be as honest and transparent as possible.

Cut sheet and instructions are the next step.
